Brisbane Escort sex workers. What’s it like being an escort working in Brisbane. Different laws than say perth escorts and sydney escorts, and melbourne escorts, making it slightly harder to be an escort worker.
And really people, being an Escort is a Business, and escorts (the majority professional one’s) pay tax like everybody else. so why are they discriminated against.
Take for instance the changes to Anti Discrimination Act back in 2011, which gave owner/operators of motels, power to evict guests if they suspected them of providing sex services for money.
Hells bells, what if you were someone having an affair, discreet affair, and some hotel/motel owner came bashing on your door calling you a sex worker. Haha, how embarrassing would that be, but also how judgemental. I mean is there a difference? having an affair and giving it away for free, or having an escort, and paying for a good service, which can undo frustrations in many people who either don’t have regular partners, don;t want regular partner due to heavy work involvement etc, and want to see a private escort, so they can still get relief and have no after affects of maintenance etc of a girlfriend/marriage. Not everyone wants to be the norm. And times are changing.
So I have to wonder, if a person has a right to then charge the owners, if they wrongfully accuse someone of being a sex worker, and where that would end up.
They stated in that time about changing the Act - this -
"The Liquor Act states a hotel or motel owner is prohibited from allowing someone to operate a private business from their premises," he said."Now both pieces of legislation contain the same provisions to avoid future confusion."
To me operating a private business would be where you rent the premises weekly, pay for the amenities bills like electricity and so on, and have it as your business address. I really don’t think that renting a motel room for an hour or so, is operating the business there. The business id actually done elsewhere via phone and email.
I am sure they would get around that one easy enough, as they always do when they already have a verdict in their minds or outcome.
The fly in Fly out trade to motels etc would dramatically drop also if this happened as they seed elsewhere to be able to do what one does as a normal part of life.
Funny enough, the legal aid government website in QLD state this - You can legally work as a sex worker in Queensland if you work alone (from your home, unit, motel or hotel) or if you work in a licensed brothel.
how old it is, I am not sure, but it’s still there to see.
If I were a hotel/motel owner, I personally would encourage professional private workers to come to the motel, give them a discreet corner, and if they look after the place, leave it normal traveller clean, would allow them to come as much as they want. It’s a non advertised traffic bringing income to them as well.
No argument there. Just some people have their already pre conditioned, perceived mindset, and can’t see on the other side of the grass.
